Over the past ten years, The Smile Train has provided free cleft surgery for over 500,000 children. These children were suffering not only because they were born with a cleft lip or palate, but because they were born too poor to ever afford surgery.
Clefts are a major problem in developing countries. Most children affected with this condition cannot eat or speak properly and aren't allowed to attend school or hold a job. They live a life of shame, isolation, embarrassment, pain and heartache.
The Smile Train cleft surgery program provides free cleft surgery for millions of poor children spanning the globe and provides free cleft-related training for doctors and medical professionals in those areas.
With a staff of only 42 people, they manage partners and programs in 75 of the world's poorest countries. By collaborating, cooperating, sharing resources, talent, experience and expertise, The Smile Train is able to help more children in less time for less money.
When you make a donation to The Smile Train, you will get not just a good feeling, but you will also get an amazing return on your investment.
